March 19, 2010 Jennifer is a single adult. She lives by herself. She is one of the 6,148 non-family households in Bartow County. This group is comprised of young singles, but only 1 in 4 are under the age of 35. Another fourth are middle aged like Jenifer who is 46, and the remaining half of those comprising the non-family households are 55 and older. Approximately 6 out of 10 of those living alone are single women. Jennifer is a Christian who has tried attending several churches in the area, but all of their programs are geared to families with children. Those with singles ministries were structured for younger singles who were looking for a mate. Jennifer is searching but struggling to find a church where she could use her giftedness. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 Pray that the churches in Bartow county will better help single adults to discover Christ. Pray that Christian singles can not only find churches to attend but also those in which they can serve.
